    Richard Tab Jackson 
  
   Call him Tab.  Tab began building homes alongside
his Dad in Opelika, Alabama about as soon as he could hold a  
   hammer. He began
his career with Jackson Construction, moved on to First Team Construction and was later 
   recognized as an Award-Winning Custom Home  Builder by Alabama’s Builder/Architect Magazine.   But the
   ocean called and in 2001, he incorporated the Tab Jackson Group, Inc. in Santa Rosa  Beach, Florida. Today
   his firm
completes four to six custom residential projects a year around the Panhandle, in addition to both
   residential and  commercial remodels. He also provides site management and training for independent
   construction projects. He’s a
single father of two with a love for fishing and enjoys taking clients out for a

                                                                                      Kyle Bengtson, Partner 

Kyle began building homes alongside his Dad, too, but in
the family business in Iowa. He eventually migrated South
 for college and met 
his future business partner while Tab was building a home for Kyle’s family in Alabama. Kyle
began his career with First Team Construction where he spent six years as a Commercial Supervisor, in addition to
his regular responsibilities. And their paths crossed again later when  both Tab and Kyle were working on the same jobsite for First Team Construction in Alabama.  Building homes together also built a lasting  friendship, and 
in the summer of 2005, Kyle moved his family south and became a Partner in the Tab Jackson Group, Inc.  He’s also a father of two with a real love for the open  ocean and a good day of fishing. 


 The TJG Philosophy...


Building a new home is a major financial investment.  There are two ways to approach the construction expenses the client will incur –
by building a “contract” home or by building a “cost-plus” home.  The difference?  The cost of a custom “cost-plus” home is broken down
for the  client and the client has more input throughout the building process, where the cost of building a “contract” home is set
 and does not allow for any budget changes or flexibility.  The Tab Jackson Group builds homes on a cost-plus basis. 


THE “COST" IN COST-PLUS BUILDING

 The Tab Jackson Group will meet with the client and itemize the cost of the desired new home construction.
They’ll create a budget for items or special features desired.  But likes and dislikes may change through the building process, and
with cost-plus building, the client will be aware of any additional costs at the time of the change.  No surprises or hidden expenses
 at the end of the project!  The client has much more input and will be involved every step of the way.  All the decisions, all the choices. 
The end result is a customized home built to the client’s specifications

 THE "PLUS" IN COST-PLUS BUILDING

 The “Plus” is the Contractor’s agreed upon percentage for Overhead and Profit. The Tab Jackson Group charges that
percentage of the total construction cost.  The O & P is included in the budget and paid weekly throughout the project.
